On Saturday 11 March, Garmin will be holding a Kids’ Active Day for 100 children, hosted by the lifeguards from Bondi Rescue, to mark the start of the Question Your Impossible Project. Sturt Eastwood, CEO of Diabetes NSW & ACT will be speaking to the children at Bondi beach about the importance of being active and living a healthy lifestyle to prevent type 2 diabetes.
The lifeguards plan to paddle 53 kilometres across the Channel of Bones as part of the Questions Your Impossible Project to raise awareness of healthy activity and type 2 diabetes prevention, with a focus on getting the youth of Australia active. Currently more than 1 million Australians are living with type 2 diabetes and up to 58% of cases can be prevented or delayed by healthy lifestyle.
